This national park site is home to some of the only remaining old-growth coastal redwoods in the world! Whether you consider yourself an avid explorer or simply not the outdoorsy type, we think these ancient giants will take your breath away.

We pick-up and drop-off at the same location on Columbus Avenue, so you won’t have to deal with the stress of driving, parking, and planning that you would have to do if you set off to Muir Woods on your own.

So unlike the Marin Transit shuttle that leaves from Sausalito, Mill Valley, and Marin City, you won’t have to figure out transportation across the bridge. We’ll take care of everything for you!

Biking to Muir Woods is an option, but not recommended. Once you cross over the Golden Gate Bridge, this stunning bike ride becomes treacherous, maneuvering around big buses and the mountain road’s sharp turns.

The suggested alternative is to bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and then catch a mini-bus ride to Muir Woods. The Bike the Bridge & Shuttle to Muir Woods Tour will allow you to enjoy an easy ride from San Francisco to the beautiful seaside town, Sausalito, where you will be able to drop off your bike, and enjoy a shuttle ride up to Muir Woods.

If you are visiting Muir Woods on the weekend, or during the summer, Marin Transit operates a Muir Woods shuttle that leaves from Sausalito, Mill Valley, and Marin City Hub. The shuttle stops at three locations, bringing visitors up to Muir Woods every sixty minutes.

We recommend that you take the ferry from Pier 39 to Sausalito, and then catch the shuttle bus up to Muir Woods.

Reservations are required for the Marin Transit shuttle. Keep in mind that tickets sell out on busier weekends, so be sure to book in advance. Also, please note that shuttle reservations are time and location-specific and the tickets are round-trip.
